Workshop description:

This KidsGames workshop is designed to train Church leaders and or Sport leaders to run a weeklong KidsGames camp.
Although KidsGames is a summer camp, the principles can be used in a variety of settings throughout the year. The methods used in this training are part of the overall KidsGames message – we seek to equip leaders through experiential education. Not only will you hear about KidsGames, you will experience KidsGames.

Workshop Objectives:
At the end of the workshop participants should be able to:

  1. Share the vision of KidsGames verbally and through multimedia with church leaders with the goal to gain buy in to host a KidsGames in your local community.
  2. Share the history of KidsGames and it’s amazing growth in over 150 countries to help with the understanding that KidsGames is a global movement stirred by god
  3. Share how Sports, recreational activities and the arts are a universal method of communication
  4. Share why experiential learning is one of the best educational methods.
  5. Be connected to network with other KidsGames leaders at both the local and international level
  6. Run a complete KidsGames including:
    1. accessing recourses through the international and local KidsGames sites.
    2. Advanced planning
    3. Recruiting and training leaders
    4. Registration
    5. Conducting a community wide Open and Closing Ceremonies
    6. All daily camp logistics
  7. Lead experiential learning sessions including
    1. Identifying teachable moments
    2. Distinguish between a planned and unplanned teachable moment
    3. Knowing how to transition from the teachable moment in a sport or recreational activity and move to a biblical lesson
  8. List at least three unique ways that the principles in KidsGames can be used in your ministry year round

Friday, March 3 from 6:00-9:00pm
Saturday, March 4th from 8:00am-4:00pm at NCCC.
